6. Explain the process of making yarn from fiber.

Solution:

Yarn can be made from fiber by the process called Spinning. From the mass of cotton, fibers are drawn and twisted which brings together the fibers to form a yarn.Two devices that are used to spin fibres into yarn are the takli or the hand spindle and the charkha. The charkha or spinning wheel is also a hand operated device for the spinning of yarn.
