Different mathematics challenges serve different age groups and purposes. SCO Maths offers an independent school-level learning and examination pathway. How national Maths Olympiad entry differs from SCO
For example, India’s official HBCSE Mathematical Olympiad 2026–27 pathway distinguishes stages such as the IOQM, RMO, INMO, selection training and the national IMO team. RMO 2026 is currently listed for 15 November 2026 on HBCSE’s schedule—an entirely different examination from an SCO Maths date on the same day. Parents should never treat shared words or dates as evidence that the two routes are affiliated.
