Idioms are a group of words that have been established to create a distinct mode of expression. These are difficult to understand based on their ordinary meanings. Getting off my back, for example, means stop bothering me. Students will be given some idioms and asked to elaborate on their definitions.
Homonyms and homophones
Homonyms are words that have similar sounds but different meanings. Homophones are words that appear to be distinct but have the same meaning. You will be given a word and asked to write homonyms and homophones for it.
