NTSE 2020 Important Dates

NTSE question papers enlighten students about the level of difficulty of the question asked in the NTSE examination. NTSE question papers help students to judge the area where they need to add more fuel of hard work for smoothly acing the exam.   

However, questions asked in MAT also assist the students in enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Moreover, quite a few exams follow the pattern which is much like of NTSE, therefore, solving as many NTSE question papers would be beneficial for the students in preparation for other examinations. 

How to Prepare for NTSE Exam 2020

There are two papers in State-level examination:

  • Paper-I Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Paper-II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Prior to the nominations for Stage-II, the students appearing for NTSE exams are judged on the basis of their performance in both sections. These exams are conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

Important aspects regarding the NTSE pattern:

  • Candidates will be considered for the merit list who will qualify separately in both papers.
  • Students are selected based on the total marks obtained in both the exams Paper-I (MAT) and Paper-II (SAT).
  • No marks are deducted for any question answered incorrectly. 
  • For every correct answer students will be awarded one mark each.
  • Each paper consists of 100 questions MAT and SAT respectively.
  • Except for the candidates who have been visually challenged the time duration for each paper is 120 minutes. 
  • Visually challenged candidates are given an advantage of the time by 30 minutes that is 150 minutes each for Paper-I and Paper-II.
