Communication and transportation are essential components of our daily lives. Transportation services move goods and people using various modes of transportation, whereas communication services connect people over long distances.

Transport

Transport is a service provided by humans, animals, and various types of vehicles for the transportation of goods. The process of transporting people and goods can be done by land, air, or water.

Transportation Modes

There are three ways to get around:

  • Road Transport
  • Air Transport
  • Water Transport

Road transportation is cheaper and faster for short distances.

Oceans are linked together through ship transport. For water transportation, ships of various sizes connect oceans.

This is a quick and inexpensive mode of long-distance transportation. It is ineffective for short trips.

Communication

There are numerous ways to communicate with people who live far away. Long-distance communication used to take much longer, but now we can have a conversation in seconds.

Communication Modes

The three modes of communication are as follows:

  • Postal Communication
  • Tele Communication
  • Mass Communication
  • Postal Communication was done through letters, postcards, and telegrams. In 2013, the telegram service also stopped in India.

Telecommunication is said to be the fastest mode of communication, using telephones and mobile phones. Calls, SMS, Fax Machines, and the Internet are all part of it.

A group of people or a company uses mass communication to send a message to a large number of people at the same time.
