IOQJS (Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science)

Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science is the full form of IOQJS. This is the International Science Olympiad competition’s first round. This three-hour test, which consists of two papers, is often administered in January. The IOQJS, administered by the IAPT and HBCSE, combines the National Standard Examination (NSE) and the Indian National Olympiad (INO) into a single competitive exam.

The main objective of the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science (IOQJS) exam is to motivate pupils to assess their scientific knowledge by taking part in an international competition.

IOQJS Eligibility

  • The birth period for candidates must fall between January 1, 2006, and December 31, 2007.
  • Academic Requirements: Candidates must have completed their studies in India by November 30, 2018, at the latest. They cannot have completed their 10th Boards or any other comparable exam before November 30, 2020. Applicants are also eligible for the IOQJS if they have been enrolled in any Indian educational system since November 2018 or earlier.
  • Applicants who want to compete in the Junior Science Qualifier for the Indian Olympiad must have lived in India since November 2018 or before. They need to be able to get a passport from India. A recent notification from the Madras High Court states that students who are Indian citizens living abroad are not eligible to be selected for the Indian squad that competes in international olympiads.
  • IOQA, IOQP, IOQC, or IOQB should not be taken by candidates who wish to compete in IOQJS in the same year.

IOQJS Syllabus

The Junior Science Indian Olympiad Qualifier syllabus was created by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers. Since this Olympiad is intended for secondary school students, almost every course in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology included in CBSE curricula up to the tenth grade is covered in the IOQJS program.

Registration for the IOQJS

In general, registration for the Junior Science Olympiad begins in October. Aspiring students can register for the IOQJS test at iaptexam. From October month, the application window for IOQJS will open in website. This year’s IOQJS application window, fees, and other aspects are expected to be the same as last year. Aspiring candidates should check the IAPT and HBCSE official websites for more information and updates.

IOQJS Result

The IOQJS results will be made available online. The results of each stage will be posted on the IAPT’s official website. All applicants will be able to view their IOQJS Paper 1 results. Candidates who reach the IOQJS Paper 1 cut-off marks will have their IOQJS Paper 2 results reviewed. Candidates will be notified of the final results, which will be posted on the IAPT and HBCSE official websites.
