The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science, or IOQJS, is the first competition in the International Science Olympiad program. Two papers make up the three-hour test, which is typically administered in January. The IOQJS, which is administered by the IAPT and the HBCSE as a partnership of two competitive examinations (NSE), combines the Indian National Olympiad (INO) and the National Standard Examination (NSE).IOQJS Exam Pattern

IOQJS Part 1
A substitute for the National Standard Examination in Junior Science is Part I of the IOQJS. This will be an hour-long part. The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) is in charge of this area. In terms of difficulty, the IOQJS Part I question paper and the NSEJS are somewhat similar. There are one or more right answers to the objective questions that make up this paper. Students can take the IOQJS Part II assessment if they meet the cut-off marks in IOQJS Part I. Whether or not they are chosen for the Orientation/Selection Camp is unrelated to this portion of the exam.
IOQJS Part 2
This portion of the exam replaces the Indian National Olympiad. It is overseen by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education. The IOQJS Part II question paper consists solely of subjective questions. The entire set of questions in IOQJS Part II will take two hours for students to finish. Individuals who fulfill the requirements for IOQJS Part I will be evaluated for IOQJS Part II. If students pass this component, their eligibility for the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp will be determined.
Importance of IOQJS Exam
One of the most well-known competitive tests in our nation, it assesses students’ IQ and comprehension of science-related secondary school material. Applicants will be selected for Orientation and Selection Camps (OCSC) if they match the requirements. Approximately 35 to 40 applicants are selected at the OCSC level. The next step up from the OCSC is the pre-departure camp. At this point, four or six people are selected.
At the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, where they get guidance from mentors and subject experts nationwide, the applicants are ready for the Olympiad’s final phase. During the last phase of the International Olympiad, a small group of mentors travel with the candidates from the pre-departure camp.
