INAO Exam Pattern

The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, in partnership with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), hosts the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad (INAO), a national examination for astronomy enthusiasts who have passed the National Standard Examination in Astronomy (NSEA). About IAPT

The Indian Physics Olympiad is organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, or IAPT, in collaboration with the HBCSE. Its goal is to raise the standard of physics instruction and physics educators both domestically and abroad. Every November, the Indian Astronomical Permitting Corporation (IAPT) conducts the National Standard Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Astronomy Examinations as well as the National Graduate Physics Examination across the national territory of India.

The top thirty candidates are chosen for the International Physics Olympiad Training Camp, which is normally hosted at HBCSE, from the top 1% of exam takers who go on to compete in the Indian National Physics Olympiad. Here is where the International Physics Olympiad team is selected. The team then heads to the exam with an IAPT Leader and Deputy Leader. This year, the NSE (NSEP, NSEC, NSEB, NSEJS, and so forth) is the first stage overseen by IAPT. The subsequent procedures are overseen by HBCSE (Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education).

INAO Exam Pattern

Part 1 of the exam (National Standard Examination in Astronomy) and Part 2 (INAO) will comprise three hours of testing. At this point, the Indian Olympiad Qualifier will take place.

The INAO exam pattern is given below:

Part I: National Standard Examination in Astronomy

The participants that make it to the following phase, Orientation and Selection Camp, will be determined by their individual score in this round.
