Objective:

This initiative aims to invite friendly nations to participate in the competition in the spirit of mutual respect and the promotion of mathematical proficiency among high school students. The goal is to identify and showcase young mathematical talent, and to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge while earning recognition for themselves, their country, and their families.

Participation Criteria:

Students who excel in regional or national championships in their country are eligible to participate in this competion.

Participants:

The AMO usually involves participation from several Arab countries, including Jordan. Students who perform exceptionally well in their national or regional mathematical olympiads may qualify to represent their respective countries at the AMO.

Competition Format:

Participants in the competition typically encounter a range of complex mathematical problems that require them to use their skills in algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. They must solve these problems within a set time limit.

Organizers:

The Arab Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is an annual competition organized by a host country or a consortium of participating countries within the Arab region. The host country or countries are responsible for planning and overseeing the competition, which may involve tasks such as creating and grading the exam, as well as coordinating the logistics of the event. Each year, a different Arab country may take on the role of hosting and organizing the competition, showcasing the collaborative and inclusive nature of the AMO within the Arab region.

Recognition and Awards:

In the AMO, participants can earn medals and certificates based on their performance. High-achieving students are eligible for special awards or recognition for their outstanding performance in specific mathematical topics or categories.

Qualification for International Olympiads:

High-achieving students in the Arab Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) have the opportunity to earn a spot on their country’s team to compete in globally recognized mathematical competitions like the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or the Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO). These competitions offer a platform for talented students to showcase their mathematical prowess and represent their country on an international stage.
