The prime objective of the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is to help evaluate, challenge and improve knowledge skills in the fields of Science, Maths, English, Computer and other subjects.

Students from classes 1 to 12 can participate in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) through their schools. For the Commerce Olympiad, only students in classes 11 and 12 are eligible. Additionally, some Olympiads are exclusively for students in classes 1 to 10.
International Maths Olympiad (IMO)
The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is a prestigious examination organised by SOF – Science Olympiad Foundation, designed for students in classes 1 to 12. The primary goal of this competition is to assess and acknowledge students’ mathematical abilities. Participants have the opportunity to test their problem-solving skills and showcase their knowledge, with the potential to receive recognition and rewards at the school, zone, and international levels.
International English Olympiad (IEO)
Students all across the world take part in the International English Olympiad – IEO, organised in collaboration with the British Council. Students from classes 1 to 12 participate in this exam, this exam is conducted in 2 levels.
The objective of this Olympiad exam is to test and examine student language skills from grammar, writing and speaking skills.
National Science Olympiad (NSO)
Students in Classes 1 to 12 are eligible to take part in the National Science Olympiad (NSO). The exam is conducted in two levels, with classes 3 to 12 eligible for level 2 participation.
The NSO aims to recognize students’ talent in the field of science and cultivate a pool of talent in scientific research, biology, physics, and chemistry, as well as to encourage students in the field of STEM. The National Science Olympiad (NSO) is organised by SOF – Science Olympiad Foundation.
International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)
IGKO – International General Knowledge Olympiad is a yearly competition organised by the Science Olympiad Foundation – SOF, this exam evaluates student awareness of current events. Students from classes 1 to 10 participate in this exam and it’s a single-level exam.
The students who secured merit in the exam are awarded at their school, zone, country and international level.
International Computer Science and Programming Olympiad – ICSO
SOF – ICSO, which stands for the International Computer Science and Programming Olympiad, is organized by SOF – Science Olympiad Foundation for students in Classes 1 to 10. The primary goal is to foster computer science and programming skills in students by presenting them with challenging tests that assess their computational and problem-solving abilities.
International Commerce Olympiad (ICO)
The International Commerce Olympiad (ICO) is a single-level exam, managed and operated by SOF – Science Olympiad Foundation. SOF – ICO is applicable for the students of classes 11 to 12.
This exam is conducted in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for SOF Exams?

Students from Classes 1 to 12 are eligible to participate in the SOF exam for its level 1 competition and there is no minimum academic requirement or eligibility criteria. To participate in Level 2 students, have to qualify Level 1.
What Is the Syllabus of SOF Exams?
There is no particular defined syllabus for the SOF Olympiad as it follows the syllabus of CBSE, ICSE and different state-level question papers.
Student for NSO and IMO are required to check the exam pattern and syllabus to plan their exam preparation.

This is the responsibility of School to follow the rules and regulations of SOF exams, and all exams should be conducted during school hours and on selected exam dates.
How to Register for SOF Exams?
Students must register for the competition through their school. Individual registration for the SOF exam is not permitted.

Steps to Apply for SOF Exam 2024-25 by School
- The school should register beforehand to help their students participate in SOF Olympiad Exams.
- Students are required to fill in the details correctly and submit the form to their school authorities.
- The schools then send the student’s details to the SOF registered office.
