Singapore Physics Olympiad (SPhO) syllabus
The syllabus of the Singapore Physics Olympiad may vary each year, but it covers a maximum range of physics to test the critical ability of participants to solve difficult situations in Physics.(Singapore Physics Olympiad (SPhO) syllabus)

Below is the list of topics that are included in (SPhO) more often:
| Thermal Physics | Electricity and Magnetism: | Optics: |
| Laws of thermodynamics | Electric fields and forces | Geometric optics (reflection, refraction, lenses, mirrors) |
| Thermal properties of matter | Electric potential and capacitance | Wave optics (interference, diffraction, polarization) |
| Kinetic theory of gases | Direct current circuits | |
| Heat transfer mechanisms | Magnetic fields and forces | |
| Electromagnetic induction | ||
| Waves and Oscillations: | Modern Physics: | Other Topics: |
| Properties of waves (types, interference, superposition) | Special theory of relativity | Fluid mechanics |
| Sound waves | Quantum physics (wave-particle duality, atomic structure) | Semiconductor physics (basic principles) |
| Standing waves and resonance | Nuclear physics (radioactivity, nuclear reactions) | Particle physics (basic concepts) |
This is very important for students to build basic knowledge of the physics topic listed above and sometimes it’s recommended to go beyond topics to challenge the difficulty in problems and concepts.
This competition encompasses a variety of questions from advanced topics, its recommended to practice more questions and competitiveness through the SCO International Olympiad.
SCO Olympiad has question pools of more than 100,000 + questions and many mock tests, provide exposure to international competition.
Also, students need to refer to the important guidelines provided by the Institute of Physics Singapore (IPS) and the Ministry of Education (MOE).
