Jordan National Mathematical Olympiad (JNMO)

The Jordan National Mathematical Olympiad (JNMO) is one of the prestigious competitions of mathematical talent for high school students.

This competition is organized and managed by the Jordanian Mathematical Society (JMS) society.

Purpose:

The JNMO is a competition established to identify exceptional talent in the field of Mathematics and cultivate their problem-solving abilities. The goal is to nurture selected individuals to excel in mathematical competitions.

Levels:

JNMO involves local or regional rounds to select participants for National rounds. In the last round, qualified students participate in the national competition to compete for the national champion title.

Problem Types:

Participants in the JNMO are presented with a series of challenging questions that may extend beyond the regular school curriculum. To solve these questions, participants need a strong fundamental understanding of mathematical concepts and exceptional problem-solving ability.

Format:

JNMO requires participants to solve questions within a specified time limit. This means that utmost accuracy is necessary to attempt all questions with precision. Papers cover various areas such as algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics.

Selection for International Olympiads:

Students who qualify for JNMO may have an opportunity to represent Jordan in the International Platform for International Mathematical Competition (IMO) or the Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO).

Awards and Recognition :

The JNMO recognizes performing students with medals, honourable mentions, and certificates. It also offers workshops to nurture young mathematical talent and prepare them for national and international competitions.

The JNMO encourage students to select for the international platform like International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or Asian Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO).

Note – SCO Olympiad is an international competition for schools and students (Mode of Exam – Online/Offline). Govt schools and private schools in Jordan have the option to conduct an Olympiad exam in the Arabic Language (Only Offline).
