INMO Syllabus

India holds a math competition called the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO). The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) IMO’s third level is called the INMO. An internationally recognized yearly mathematical competition for high school students is held in India, called the Indian National Olympiad. The INMO exam is conducted annually by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. Candidates are selected for the International Maths Olympiad (IMO), which is thought of as the IMO’s entry point, at the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) level.INMO Syllabus

Of the thousands of students who take the INMO exam nationwide, only thirty are chosen. The chosen candidates receive training at the IMOTC (International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp) following their passing of the INMO exam. Following the training, six of the top applicants are chosen to represent our nation abroad. The INMO is a very tough exam that necessitates a deep comprehension of the subjects taught in the syllabus. The exam questions for INMO are regarded as being fairly challenging. Given that there are six questions on the question paper despite the extensive INMO syllabus, candidates should be aware of how difficult this exam will be. The exam is four hours long, offline, and has six difficult questions to solve. INMO Syllabus

Syllabus of INMO

Basic combinatorics, number theory and probability theory, finite series and complex numbers, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, factorization of polynomials, system of linear equations, geometry, arithmetic integers, quadratic equations and expressions, inequalities, and elementary graph theory are among the subjects covered by the INMO. College mathematics prerequisites are covered in the INMO Syllabus. The following subjects will be included in the INMO question paper:

1Arithmetic of Integers
2Quadratic Equations and Expressions
3Geometry
4Co-ordinate Geometry
5Permutations and Combinations
6System of Linear Equations
7Elementary Combinatorics
8Inequalities
9Number Theory
10Probability Theory
11Finite Series and Complex Numbers
12Factorization of Polynomial
13Elementary Graph Theory
14Trigonometry

Statistics and calculus are not covered in the syllabus. For pupils in grades XI and XII, there is a syllabus. It is combined with a higher degree of complexity and difficulty, though.

Frequently Asked Questions on INMO Syllabus

Q1 Is the INMO exam challenging?

Students who have finished the first two stages of the National Olympiad Math program are eligible to take the third step, known as the INMO test. Compared to JEE and JEE Advanced, Olympiads are more thorough tests. First off, all IMO and other Olympiad tasks are harder than JEE questions.

Q2 Does INMO include coordinate geometry?

Coordinate geometry is a significant subject covered in the curriculum, yes. The syllabus should be reviewed by students to determine the subjects that will be covered. They will be able to practice such subjects in this way.

Q3 What is the INMO exam format?

The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education hosts the third level of the International Math Olympiad, the INMO test, annually. The INMO test is a paper-and-pencil test consisting of six questions with a four-hour time limit.

Q4 Who is qualified to compete in the National Mathematics Olympiad of India?

Candidates must first compete in their state or region’s Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) before they may take the INMO exam.About thirty students are chosen by each region to write the INMO. Thirty students out of the five hundred or more kids meet the requirements for the INMO and are sent to HBSCE for a month-long training camp to get ready for the international math Olympiad. At the conclusion of the training camp, six students are selected to participate in the International Math Olympiad (IMO).
