Students can gain a thorough comprehension of the topics included in the course by taking the highly competitive INMO test. About 900 students per year are eligible to take the INMO exam, which is open to applicants who received an INMO merit award for a prior INMO examination. INMO : Eligibility Criteria

The Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) in the applicant’s state or zone must be passed before they can try the INMO. In order to be eligible for the INMO exam, candidates need to fulfill a few requirements. Students who were born on or after August 1, 2002, who are enrolled in Classes VIII, IX, X, XI, or XII, are eligible to take the IOQM.INMO Eligibility Criteria

  • The Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), the preliminary stage exam, is used to identify applicants for the INMO exam.
  • Six students from grade 12 and a total of 28 students from grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 are chosen to compete in each section of the HBCSE INMO.
  • The Pre-Regional Math Olympiad (Pre-RMO) score will be used to break ties between two applicants if their results are tied. If the Pre-RMO grade does not exceed the cut score, all candidates will be taken into account in the final list that is sent to the HBCSE.
  • Five additional girls are selected, with the contenders for each area being eliminated (only female pupils in grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 are included).
  • Up to five students from Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools outside of India and a minimum of five students from non-KV CBSE schools may be selected to take the INMO exam directly.
  • Selection of students is primarily the responsibility of the KVS and CBSE officials.
  • Out of 500 applications, only 30 are eligible for the INMO. Following the training camp, only the top 6 applicants are selected to represent our nation at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
  • The top 30 candidates are then assigned to the HBCSE for a month of coaching in preparation for the International Maths Olympiad.

Frequently Asked Questions on INMO Eligibility Criteria

Q1 How may one apply for INMO eligibility?

Approximately thirty students are selected from each location to take the INMO exam once the candidates have finished the RMO test. A month-long preparation camp at the HBCSE is required for the 30 students out of 500 who take the INMO to pass it and advance to the International Olympiad Math. At the end of the program, just six of the top applicants are selected to represent our nation on a global stage.

Q2 What is the registration process for the INMO Exam?

It should be noted by students that INMO does not have a separate registration procedure. Students who pass the previous level (IOQM) and are awarded INMO merit awards from the previous year are eligible for direct admission. Approximately 900 individuals are selected annually based on a variety of criteria to take the INMO exam. Out of the 900 students that will receive training for the International Maths Olympiad, only 35 will be selected. In the end, only the best 6 students are selected to represent our nation internationally.

Q3 What is the format of the INMO Examination?

Six issues make up the INMO test, which needs to be finished in four hours. Each of the six questions on the exam carries the same amount of marks, making the total question paper worth 102 marks. These are difficult problems spanning the fields of algebra, geometry, number theory, and combinatorics. Students are permitted to use calculus-based approaches to answer problems even if calculus is not covered in the test.
