Students in Classes 11 and 12 compete in the Indian National Biology Olympiad (INBO). This test is the second phase of the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education’s Biology Olympiad Program, and it is administered at the national level (HBCSE). The CBSE Biology Exam, known as INBO, starts in Classes 11 and 12 and consists of basic questions about the topic. Exam Details

To be eligible for the INBO exam, all students must pass the National Standard Examination for Biology (NSEB). Candidates for the NSEB must be in Class XII or below as of November and must have been born after July. Students can choose from a wide range of disciplines according to the exam schedule. You can find more information on the relevant sites. After completing Class XII, students are not permitted to apply to NSEB.

  • Those who fail the NSEB exam are immediately disqualified from the INBO.
  • Past INBO exam papers indicate that there are two sections (Section A and Section B) and 100 points total. There are 30 questions in Section A, each worth one mark, and 22 questions in Section B, each worth fifty points.
  • There will be two parts to this three-hour exam: Part 1 (National Standard Examination for Biology) and Part 2 (National Standard Examination for Chemistry). A negative score is assigned to each wrong answer. More specific information about the exams is provided below.

Part I: National Standard Examination in Biology

For Indian higher secondary students studying biology, there is an exam called the National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB). Usually, it happens towards the end of November. The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, and the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences are working together to organize the exam. Part II: Indian National Biology Olympiad

The two-hour test consists of long questions that adhere to the same INBO standards as previous years. Those that make it through the first round will be considered for this stage.
