The INBO (Indian National Biology Olympiad) is a competition for students in classes 11 and 12. It is a national level test and the second stage of the Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education’s Biology Olympiad Program (HBCSE). It is held at over 15 locations across India, and attracts a significant number of students each year. INBO Exam

Criteria for INBO Eligibility

Those preparing for the INBO Exam need to fulfill the following prerequisites:

  • To be eligible for the Biology Olympiad Program, the candidate must pass the National Standard Examination for Biology, Stage 1 (NSEB).
  • The applicant needs to fulfill the prerequisites for an Indian passport.
  • They have to be citizens of India and enrolled in Indian educational institutions.
  • Only seniors in their final year of high school are eligible to apply for INBO. Nonetheless, those who have completed the NSEB exam and are in grades 10 and 11 are qualified to apply.
  • They will not be considered eligible if they apply for the National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) in the same year.
  • In addition, students who are Indian citizens living abroad (OCIs) will not be chosen for the Biology Olympiad Program.

How to Register for the INBO Exam

  • You have the option to choose the exam location when you register.

INBO Exam Syllabus and Exam Pattern

For the first and second levels, the NSEB and INBO syllabus closely resembles the senior secondary level (up to class XII) of the CBSE board. The International Olympiad’s syllabus and the third stage’s are identical. Owing to the ongoing epidemic in the nation, the organizing body, HBCSE, has decided to combine the NSEB and INBO exams into a single test, combining the phases of the Biology Olympiad Program. Part 1 of the test (National Standard Examination for Biology) and Part 2 (INBO) will comprise this three-hour assessment INBO Exam.

INBO syllabus is similar to the NSEB syllabus and covers the following topics:

Many students want to know the test results as soon as they finish it. The INBO Exam Result is available to all test takers via the official HBCSE website, secure.hbsce.tifr.res.in/ino/. Candidates cannot view their results until specific information has been completed.
